Controversial

http://www.flavorwire.com/268992/controversial-photographers?all=1

A list of controversial photographers.

However many of these are old, a I believe people are doing more thought provoking controversial work now that isn't all about shock but instead about tackling issues of today.

Also interesting to read about the children of photographers suing them for their photographs (or at least trying to )

Please note the following link has nudity and sexuality in case you are sensitive or would rather not view it.

Daniel Restrepo.

I was reading "the sex issue" of the New Yorker- found photos by Daniel Restrepo accompanying an article. Documents a "throuple" with three people all together. Their family business is a gay-porn company in Long Island City. I found it incredibly inspiring in regards to our doco/enviro shots. An interesting, obscure story that has very few photos but tell a lot. Enjoy! (click photo for article)

Our High Key :) Chris, Court & Yaara

So this is our high key portrait... Whatcha' think?

Katy Grannan

I adore this constructed portrait by artist Katy Grannan. It's so awkward but all the elements seem to complement each other.

Low & Mid Key

Mid Key

Low Key

Chris, Courtney, and Yaara!!
Think about examples of environmental portraiture that you love...What are they and why do they speak to you.

I'll have some of my favourite examples ready to show you on Wednesday.

See you then.

corked

I didn't shoot this with an assignment in mind but looking for some feedback anyway.

Pat is making a documentary film about this quirky family tradition. Whilst enjoying a few bottles of wine at home, his parents and uncles would burn the wine corks and intoxicatingly draw on each others faces. They would then start acting the role of these imaginary characters.

Its a cool story so I wanted to photograph Pat with this 'family-cork-charcoal' on his face. Plus he is an awesome dude.
