very appropriate with the olympics! these shots feel poweful, and the body isn't swallowed by the dark surroundings. great stuff.
And it's good to see that there aren't big streaks of light or shadow across the ground and that the light was controlled to just the figure.
The negative space is great, I agree with Matt that the light is only on the subject showing the level of control over the lighting setup.
