Constructed Portrait

This is my friend Henry, he is studying bachelor of fine arts majoring in drawing

I've enjoyed having this blog to see lots of everyones work, I think we should
keep using it, it would make a great platform for us to all share our works in
progress, or finished works with each other

Syd Sherrin

My documentary series of Syd Sherrin. 4th generation football maker.

EleMentaL- Outdoor lighting and Constructed portrait series

Through this series of 4 outdoor shots I wanted to capture humanity's consumption of the elements through a cynical perspective. The subject expresses a certain degree of innocence through the Air, Earth, Water and Fire shots. Symbolic of how humanity devours the elements provided in this world through a certain state of naivety.

These shots culminate in the Constructed Portrait. Where all the elements from the outdoor shots are present yet the subject displays a more visible evil side as a higher sense of power. The second subject now depicts humanity through its own state of ignorance and portrays that even though they think they are free, they are all prisoners of the system.

The Ottoman Crew- Documentary series

A documentary series on a group of young bikers as they ride together as brothers, pushing the boundaries of riding, yet do not forget the obligations of religion.

Constructed

Outdoor Series

A series about people feeling isolated and disconnected from the busy world around them.

Constructed Portrait

Some last minute posts. This is my constructed portrait. It's an old man painting (quite obviously, haha) but instead of a canvas, he paints into his own reflection. You could say he's reflecting back on his life. I kept the studio environment because I wanted it to be in a somewhat neither here nor there region, a bit like limbo.

So colour or black and white?

Outdoor lighting

For my outdoor lighting i tryed to keep it pretty raw & natural trying to keep the model connected with her surroundings- I do believe i have achieved this in my final images. The lighting used was a natural back light with my speedlight as the fill- In post iv also added a colour toning in order to try and keep the flow within the images.  Hope you enjoy them :)

constructed portrait- sweet overdose

inspired by Marie Antoinette

The concept i have in mind is something very dreamy, sweet, and girly. I've always fascinated by dolls, girls, laces, cakes, something whimsical.

I would like the subject to be doll-like.

This was shot in my bed

I think i have achieved what i've personally had in mind

However, I was originally wanted to include some parts of the bed in the frame but it didn't quite look the way i want it to be.

Outdoor lighting take 2

Decided to ditch the other series and do something a bit different. I'd never really done night time photography before so this was something pretty different for me.
